THE debate over whether to allow The Exorcist to be screened in cinemas on Good Friday was blown out of proportion when one considers the other activities that are allowed on the day.
Casinos don’t close on Good Friday, nor do other distractions such as football matches get cancelled.
Where are our priorities when people are playing and watching the football or gambling their money away instead of remembering the great sacrifice Christ made for us on Good Friday.
It is worth considering that football fans would get more benefit from attending the 3pm Good Friday service in their local church than watching the battle that takes place on the field each week.
Some people consider their football is like a religion, but clearly there needs to a distinction made when it comes to worship.
