We cannot imagine the devastation and pain of the people of Haiti in the wake of the January 13 earthquake (Page 3 and 6).
The stories and images that come to us through the media leave us awe-struck at the magnitude of the disaster, and we are left with a feeling of helplessness in the face of such tragedy.
Then we see the efforts of the people who are there trying to help in the most difficult of conditions, and we marvel at their courage and compassion, and their endurance.
The best we can do is support that relief effort by giving as much as we can to organisations such as Caritas.
