DURING the tumult in Cairo, if some-one approached the rioters, however well intentioned they were, and said “Take me to your leader”, they would have a problem finding him.
In the Middle East, there certainly would not be a “her” in charge. Those who believe democracy, as we know it, is around the corner in Egypt or anywhere else in the region, are wishful thinkers.
A cash-strapped disorganised majority, with good intentions will be hard pressed to defeat a well organised, cashed-up Muslim Brotherhood minority, patiently hanging around in the wings, waiting for an opportunity to pounce.
Barack Obama’s naïve suggestion that the Muslim Brotherhood should be included in any new “democratic” government in Egypt, displays what damage an inexperienced politician, such as Obama, can do.
His CV contains details of some few years or more as a federal senator, often missing in action, plus an earlier time in Chicago politics. He then took on the important position as President of the United States.
Israel would be very worried at the prospect of being surrounded, in a couple of years, by a larger group of nations, more hostile than before and governed by the Christian and Israeli-hating Muslim Brotherhood.
