CHANGING times have caught up with one of Queensland’s oldest religious orders, but its members must be admired for the way they are facing the challenge.
The Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Brisbane have faced the reality of dwindling numbers and the aging of their members by reaching an agreement with Catholic Healthcare to takeover their Villa Maria Centre aged-care ministries, maintaining a Christian ethos.
Most importantly for the sisters, they are moving on full of faith and hope to new challenges, open to God’s will. They are looking ahead to the possibility of establishing a spirituality centre for the heart of the city.
Their faith in the face of change is an example to us all.
