BEING forced to flee your country and being separated from part of your family because you fear for your life must be bad enough.
But for Gold Coast mother Yvonne Evarts and her two children with her in Australia, the nightmare has returned as the Federal Government seeks to extradite them to Sri Lanka, where Mrs Evarts has been unjustly accused of bring a Tamil terrorist.
The trio acknowledge that their future back in Sri Lanka would be seriously at risk.
This would appear to be a perfect case where compassion is required in determining whether a family should be allowed to stay in Australia.
Extraditing the Evarts back to Sri Lanka would almost certainly be a death sentence.
Surely it is not a sentence any Australian would want on their conscience.
