BEING in Rome for World Youth Day 2000 will be an experience that will live on forever for the 2 million young pilgrims who took part.
The event, which exceeded all expectations, has shown that the Church can have faith in its young people.
Their enthusiasm and positive example are rich resources which need to be cultivated more.
The Pope’s call for the young faithful to change the world is a worthy challenge in a society where following Christ is often not regarded as “cool”.
Two million young people from around the world made a difference by coming to Rome. Now their mission is to make a difference back home.
