Earth and Blood

WHILE peace appears destined to return to the Solomon Islands, the increasingly difficult situation in the Middle East may not be resolved for some time.

The war over every centimetre of land around Jerusalem will not be quelled until the rights of all sides in the holy city and beyond are recognised.

The overlapping claims on parts of the city require respect and, where necessary, joint custodianship.

It is a sad commentary on the sacrifice of Christ’s suffering 2000 years ago that the same soil he walked on is again stained with blood.
