THE stirring address by Archbishop John Bathersby at last weekend’s Rally for Life in Brisbane will no doubt serve as great encouragement for the hundreds of tireless pro-life campaigners in the parishes.
They will take heart from his impassioned plea for our society to pay heed to the precious human life that is being destroyed at an alarming rate.
Hearing the leader of our archdiocese speak out so strongly in such a public manner will give strength to the many parishioners dedicated to praying, writing letters to politicians and newspapers, and lobbying parliamentarians to push for laws that uphold the value of human life at a time when pressure is mounting for more relaxed legislation on abortion.
Hopefully, the archbishop’s message will encourage many more people, especially politicians, to take a closer look at this issue for the good of unborn future generations.
