WILFUL and or coerced abortions performed in Queensland are illegal, but it appears that those performing the procedures can call on legal protection.
Graham Preston, a father of a large family, has commenced an eight-month jail sentence for drawing attention to unsavoury activities by sitting in front of an abortion practice.
His crime was that he did not want to move when asked.
No one is asking for the girls and women undergoing the surgery to be jailed.
Statistics indicate that two-thirds of them could cite some form of pressure or coercion in the lead-up period from partners or relatives.
If the Queensland Government is not prepared to prosecute abortionists, then it would be fair for the Governor to pardon Mr Preston and let him be a father who is true to his family and sound community values.
