Proposed changes to Victoria’s abortion laws have rightly attracted widespread criticism (Page 1).
Supporters of the changes cannot, however, dismiss the criticism as being what they would normally expect from the usual Church quarters.
Opposition is also coming from a doctors’ group representing people from many different religious beliefs and some who have no religious beliefs.
They are doctors concerned about being forced to act against their conscience.
This is no surprise, especially when the proposed laws deal with the taking of human life.
We need to keep telling our politicians what we believe about the sanctity of human life.
