FOR too long the abortion debate has been cleverly avoided by the major political parties.
That it has made the political agenda at last at a federal level is good news because the facts can finally be presented and argued.
It is to be hoped that Catholic and other politicians will continue to stand up for what they believe in challenging the moral and ethical injustice of killing unborn humans.
Only by debating the facts behind abortion, and especially late-term abortions, will more Australians come to realise they have been silent while thousands of embryos in this country have been killed each year.
There is an urgent need for national legislation to circumvent the varying state laws that give tacit approval to abortions.
