THERE are 500,000 innocent and as yet unborn children still suffering from the causes of Agent Orange sprayed by the Americans during the war in Vietnam.
I am sure God, all the saints in heaven, along with Jesus and Mary his Mother, weep constantly for these children.
Yet a priest prays for money for extensions for a community centre and a statue weeps.
I, for one, am not surprised if that is all he worries about.
Remember Thomas the Doubter had to see before believing. Miracles are happening every day, but we have to see for ourselves or wait for His Holiness to declare somebody a saint.
A blind man has more faith but he or she develops a sixth sense and believes.
No, I have not seen the so-called statues, neither have I been to see Mel Gibson’s film.
I think I am intelligent enough to believe what God the Father and his Son Jesus taught us and my own experiences in life to recognise a miracle when I see one. All you have to do is keep the faith and open your eyes.
A cynic and a sceptic, I would never believe in a weeping statue and the bishops should have the courage to denounce it.
I ask everyone of all religions to pray for a real miracle to stop the suffering of the innocent of all wars and stop being so materialistic. Remember we are here but for a short time.
