THE horror that struck Christchurch almost two weeks ago is beyond anything most of us will ever experience, thank God.
But, in the wake of such tragedy, comes a story (Page 5) of simple acts with which we can all identify and even imitate.
Motivated to do something to help the people reeling from the effects of the disaster, a group of Catholic youth started cooking some sausages, and that one practical move gathered momentum to take them beyond what they’d imagined.
As much as the barbecued sausages are appreciated, it is the compassion behind the effort that makes the difference. It’s a timely example for us as we enter Lent, when Project Compassion comes to the fore.
