WE have all been move by the death and destruction witnessed in Samoa, the Philippines, Indonesia and, to a lesser extent, Vietnam.
Many have been touched personally through family and friends who suffered through the disasters.
Now we are challenged, even though economic times may be tough, to support the affected communities with financial aid.
As always, Australians are sure to show their compassion at this time of great need, and groups such as Caritas, Catholic Mission and Aid to the Church in Need will deliver the fruits of that compassion.
