THE Catholic Church cannot afford to remain on the periphery of society.
That was one of the key messages Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor of Westminster delivered when he spoke in Brisbane on September 2-3.
As the Church is the sum of its members, it is also imperative that each Catholic makes their voice heard, whether it is in the world of business, politics or any other field of involvement.
When it comes to current issues such as embryonic stem cell research or refugee justice, the Catholic voice of reason cannot be hidden under a bushel.
