THERE’S plenty in this week’s edition to help us focus on the true meaning of Christmas. I hope many of our readers will find at least one thing, or maybe many, that will help enrich their Christmas 2010 experience.
I’ve had the pleasure of reading every page already but I will look forward to starting at the front and savouring each section as I go through again, beginning with Fr Kevin Ryan’s Real Life.
What grabbed me there was Fr Ryan’s point that “the Christmas crib in our church isn’t just something for making children feel good”. The rest of his column gives us reason to take a fresh look.
Then there’s the chance to share the joy and innocence of Christmas through the eyes of children in Selina Venier’s feature story on Page 12 and Family Faith (Page 18).
And Canossian Sister Melissa Dwyer’s piece (Page 11) can shake us out of our complacency, with her view of a different reality.
More Dwyers, on Page 26, remind us that it’s all about “presence”. Happy Christmas.
