Four pages in this week’s edition of the Leader feature stories that give an insight into the varied and valuable work of Centacare Brisbane.
They give a snapshot of a Church agency and dedicated staff and volunteers following the example of Jesus, caring for the poor, the sick, the lonely, the imprisoned, the marginalised and those who are over-burdened.
Centacare is the practical arm of a Church striving to carry on the mission of Jesus Christ in our own communities.
It engages in this mission on our behalf, on behalf of the wider Church community.
We, and our family and friends, also benefit from the work of Centacare, whether that be as hospital patients, people with mental illness, people needing respite care, families needing child care or marriage counselling, people in prison.
We are asked to support this work through the Archbishop’s Centacare Appeal in Brisbane archdiocese this weekend. Give generously.
