I AM a 71 year-old male, and broad minded, who out of utter curiosity tuned into the Big Brother program, and later at 10pm for the same reason I watched another channel depicting the male sexual organ.
These programs were watched for a short time, but long enough for me to scratch my head in disbelief.
I am firmly convinced that if I exposed myself in public in like manner and used similar language as these shows I would be arrested and charged.
So what’s the difference and why the so-called guardians of our television viewing allow these types of shows to go to air is beyond me.
Those on the other side of the fence to me would undoubtable say I don’t have to look at these shows, which I certainly won’t be doing again.
But don’t let anyone tell me that by putting on this type of show at a late hour they will escape the attention of unsupervised young children.
I am Catholic and proud of it. So I challenge each bishop in our various dioceses to organise a petition of protest in each of their parishes to condemn these two television channels.
After all people power has brought governments to answer for their wrongs, so why not this media who show total disregard for common decency.
I refuse on principle to name these two channels but am sure there are others who know them and are as disgusted as myself. Enough is enough.
