OPPORTUNITIES to become involved in Christ’s mission arise constantly.
Apart from the day-to-day episodes of life, there are the extraordinary opportunities that present themselves, such as World Youth Day, reaching out to those in need and caring about people being oppressed.
Thanks to the Holy Spirit, people are moved to respond to these opportunities.
In this week’s edition, there are prime examples, where people are responding and more are called to respond.
There is the appeal for volunteers by Brisbane archdiocese’s World Youth Day Secretariat (page 1), the St Vincent de Paul Society responding to a crisis in housing (page 3), Caritas responding to human need in Burma (page 5) and a Brisbane Catholic trying to support oppressed West Papuans.
