THE Anglican and Catholic archbishops of Brisbane are leading by example in promoting unity and understanding between the two Churches.
Success in what Anglican Archbishop Phillip Aspinall describes as “a long, patient and very significant movement of God’s spirit” will depend on the rest of us – how open we are to following this example and God’s spirit.
Apart from the good will that flowed from the signing of the covenant on May 29, the practical aspects contained in the document will be just as important in strengthening unity between the Churches.
Hopefully, that’s where the attitudes of unity will take root.
