A SPECIAL MAN FOR A CHALLENGING JOB
THE ordination of a new bishop is always an important occasion in the life of the Church.
Not just anyone is called to this important position of leadership.
The chosen person must be prepared to face some great challenges in the Church of the 21st century.
He requires a strong pastoral example, compassion, exceptional wisdom and judgment, and the ability to lead as well as follow.
It is a tough call considering the Church’s journey through some stormy seas in recent years.
Taking these difficult times into account, Brisbane is lucky to have Bishop Brian Finnigan as a new auxiliary.
He will be a more than able support to Archbishop John Bathersby in leading the archdiocese closer to God’s mission.
