MY wife and I were among the privileged ecumenical congregation attending the Ashes to Life celebrations at the Brisbane Botanical Gardens on the evening of Ash Wednesday.
To those who missed this historical event I can only say, “It’s your loss”. Even though it rained throughout the evening the joyous atmosphere and feeling of togetherness and completeness was quite overwhelming.
To the organisers, orchestra, soloist and choir as well as readers of the Word, participating clergy and technical staff our sincerest congratulations! The many, many hours spent in planning and rehearsal of this night of nights have made an impression that will last for the remainder of our lives.
