ON Father’s Day, it is worth considering the qualities that make a great dad.
For inspiration, one need look only as far as Jim Rafter, the father of tennis champion Pat Rafter.
The decision to name him Father of the Year was an excellent one.
Jim and his wife Jocelyn have brought up nine wonderful children. A big family they may be, but they are always willing to help each other. Their selfless team effort in backing Pat on the tennis circuit is just one example of the great family spirit they display every day.
Jim is a easy-going bloke, a man of few words, who prefers to remain out of the limelight. But his hard work to keep a roof over the family’s head and great example over the years have made him not just a family hero, but one we can all admire.
