CHERISH Life Queensland encourages young people to treat their fertility with respect so that their chance of having future fertility problems are kept to a naturally occurring minimum.
Our sexuality is a precious gift and needs to be treated as such.
It should not be “used and abused” prior to marriage, but rather given as a sacred wedding gift to our spouse.
It would be a devastating situation to find one’s reduced fertility or even sterility has, as its cause, a sexual disease such as chlamydia encountered in one’s youth.
Recently, Louise Kirk from England was a guest speaker for a Cherish Life event in August.
Louise is the author of the book Sexuality Explained and of the Alive to the World series of books. These books are written for parents and teachers, with an accompanying student book.
They look at the gift of our sexuality in context, rather than as an isolated part of the human condition.
This is exactly as it should be – that our sexuality is part of the whole person, precious and worthy of respect.
Louise believes that these books “give children and young people something wholesome and healthy that fills their imagination and operates at every level of the human person – the mind, the heart, the soul, the spirit, the body, the will”.
We agree with her.
