Harvest tour: The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

EVERY year we promise ourselves the next year is going to be different.

Why not make this promise a positive one; rather than saying “I won’t do this” or “I’ll stop doing that”, make a decision to help yourself grow spiritually, to embark on a journey which will nurture inner peace and a deepening of your faith.

Make the decision to go on pilgrimage.

The possibilities for spiritual and intellectual growth are endless, the earliest pilgrimages were based on a desire to relive the Bible stories and to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

A pilgrimage to the Holy Land no longer needs to be a dream, make it a reality and join Harvest Pilgrimages on one of their several departures to the Holy Land in 2015.

Visiting sites in the Holy Land as a pilgrim is different to to visiting as a tourist; you will encounter the Gospels coming to life, and you can’t help but come back changed.

Participation in the Holy Liturgy will never be the same again – how can it be after having walked in the footsteps of Christ or having renewed your baptismal vows in the River Jordan?

The term “Christmas joy” will hold new meaning after venerating the place where Jesus was born.

The Gospels will no longer be stories read out at Mass; these stories come to life as you live and breathe them; they become a part of you. Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana and Jerusalem will feel strangely like home.

Now is the time to make your resolution to visit the Holy Land at least once in your lifetime.
