MacDonnells Law associate Kate Black shares her insights into membership of the Assembly of Catholic Professionals.

As an associate of MacDonnells Law, I am always looking for opportunities to grow my professional connections with like-minded people.

The Assembly of Catholic Professionals offers something truly unique as it allows you to connect with people on both a professional and personal level.

When I was first introduced to the ACP I wasn’t sure what to expect, but have found the quarterly luncheons to be of very high quality and a tangible example of how the Church is remaining current for the next generation of leaders.

The speakers in particular have been captivating, especially Matthew and Diane Ames’ incredible story about Matthew’s loss of all four limbs after suffering toxic shock.

Their deeply personal account had a great impact on those who attended the luncheon and I think many people responded to their message about the importance of faith in times of adversity.

My advice to young professionals considering membership to the ACP is to do it, particularly if your firm is supportive of you attending ACP events as MacDonnells Law has been for me.

As a new member you can be confident that your fellow members share your values and are genuinely interested in you and your story.
