Peaceful haven: St Mary’s Towers Retreat Centre offers the natural environment and beautiful settings for the perfect retreat.

STEEPED in the spirituality of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart,  “a spirituality of the heart”, St Mary’s Towers Retreat Centre is set on 500ha of natural bushland that creates a relaxing, pastoral, peaceful, environment for prayer and reflection.

The elegant sandstone buildings, surrounded by beautiful gardens, provide a homely environment for anyone seeking to relax and enjoy God in silence and solitude, with a supportive, silent, praying community.

A contemplative liturgy is celebrated each day.

A well-qualified and dedicated team is led by Missionaries of the Sacred Heart Father Stephen Dives and includes other MSCs Fr Terry Naughton and Fr Dominic Gleeson, and Dr Kerrie Hide and Michelle Vass, plus occasional visiting directors.

They offer creative retreats that support prayer and provide wisdom and insights into the rich Christian tradition of meditation and contemplation.

Retreats are also offered that support the process of grief and loss, healing and wellness. Compassionate listening to the presence of God in life experience in spiritual direction is integral to each retreat experience.

Retreats for weekends, six or eight days occur throughout the year, with 30-day retreats offered in January, May and August.

Month-long retreats include Life’s Journey Experience, The Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola, The Spiritual Exercises of Gertrude of Helfta, the way of prayer of a mystic, or simply being in the silence of the bush.   Longer sabbatical programs are also crafted to individual preferences.
