THE page 2 column in the January 25 edition by Father Aidan Carvill struck a chord with me.
As a father of eight and committed Catholic I am often bewildered by the number of students exiting the Catholic education system who seem to have so little knowledge of and commitment to their faith.
I believe that the words spoken by Fr Aidan to the staff of St Kevin’s School, Geebung, should be compulsory listening for all those who have accepted the highly responsible vocation of educating our children in the Catholic system.
Additionally his words and their message would be very appropriate for many parents who are the primary educators of their children.
Fr Aidan is to be congratulated for having the courage to say it as he sees it and hopefully many will follow his advice.
