AMERICAN pro-life advoc-ate Kay Painter drew record numbers to a St Francis Xav-ier Parish breakfast for the launch of her book From Sin and Sorrow to Service.
The book tracked her journey out of post-abortion grief into the saving grace of Jesus.
The event was held at the Holiday Inn on October 5.
Eve Bennett said the attendance of about 85 people was the best at the parish’s breakfasts in the past year.
“Kay came over as warm and loving,” she said. “She became very emotional describing the events, even so many years later. Her openness endeared her to everyone.
“Abortion is such a traumatic event for women, yet no one recognises its impact as a true psychological condition.”
Ms Painter, a member of US organisation Operation Outcry, visited Cairns as part of her national tour, No More Secrets.
