TRINA Cambourn is the 2004 Australasian Emergency Nurse of the Year.
Trina, a pastoral councillor at Star of the Sea Parish, Cleveland, works at Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital and was named emergency nurse of the year at a dinner in Adelaide last month.
The dinner was the culmination of the three-day annual conference of the National Emergency Nurses and attracted about 300 participants from throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Trina, who trains emergency nurses at Princess Alexandra Hospital, said she was staggered by the honour.
She has been involved in clinical leadership and also has a degree in psychology.
She was also one of two Queensland nurses who flew to Bali in October 2002 with a medical team to transport patients back to Australia.
