SPREADING the message of peace and love to primary school students through the Rosary is a role a Brisbane mother and daughter team are getting ready to accelerate this month.
In 2003, Diana Walker and her daughter Veronica asked Archbishop John Bathersby of Brisbane if they could spread the Rosary through archdiocesan primary schools.
Archbishop Bathersby agreed, saying it was “a splendid prayer”.
Since then the mother and daughter team have donated rosary beads and prayer cards out of their own pockets to thousands of students and have contacted more than 100 schools about receiving rosary beads.
And their message could not have more resonance this month as the Church celebrates the month of the Rosary.
They sent rosary beads and prayer cards to 10 schools in the archdiocese last year, but they are hoping to send them to many more this year to help students with their prayer life.
