SEEDS germinated from 400 year-old Irish trees will have a special place at St Oliver Plunkett Church, Cannon Hill.
The parish and school community have decided to make the feast of St Oliver Plunkett a special event on their annual calendar.
Children from the school celebrated the day with a special liturgy followed by day-long activities on July 13.
Parish priest Fr Mark Percival said there was debate as to whether the feast day is July 1 or July 11.
As part of the Mass, children carried pictures of St Oliver, recently acquired from Ireland, and a small seedling in a pot representing a yew tree.
The school has received 15-20 seedlings from old yew trees where St Oliver would have played as a boy in Ireland.
