RELICS of St Therese of Lisieux will tour Australia for the first time in April 2002.
They will visit most dioceses, finishing their tour in Brisbane, from where they will go to French Polynesia.
Co-ordinator of Brisbane archdiocese’s Office of Spiritual Renewal, Mike Humphrys, said the relics would visit St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Carmelite monastery at Ormiston, Our Lady of Mt Carmel parish Coorparoo, Little Flower Church at Kedron and the Marian Valley shrine at Canungra.
An exhibition of the relics in the United States two years ago attracted a response surpassing all expectations.
In her autobiography, St Therese (d 1897) says she would like to be a missionary “not for a few years only, but from the beginning of creation until the consummation of the ages”.
