FILIPINO priest, Fr Robert Reyes, let his feet do the talking when he ran through Brisbane last week for the poor of the debt-burdened Third World.
In his homeland, Fr Reyes is known as ‘The Running Priest’, a man with a message, which he has brought to Australia for the first time.
From Brisbane’s King George Square last Tuesday, he began an 8km run through the city with students from Catholic colleges tagged along by Australian Columban Father Brian Gore.
Australia is only the second country outside the Philippines where Fr Reyes has run.
He is on a national tour of state capitals and major regional centres until September 23.
