BEEF Australia highlights the best in the grazier industry each year and one Catholic school had the chance to lead out the champion cattle at this year’s weeklong festival.

Students from The Cathedral College had the honour of leading the Parade of Champions in the centre ring at BEEF 2021.

The Cathedral College show team led out the champions for each breed before a capacity crowd of beef producers and industry leaders with the parade being beamed across Australia.

Another Catholic school also dazzled the crowd.

The newly formed judging team from St Paul’s Catholic Primary School, Gracemere, competed in their very first event at BEEF 2021 after only commencing training last term.

Teams from Years 5 and 6 competed in the team judging event and 21 students competed in the individual judging event.

“Congratulations to members of our Catholic school communities and their families who through their participation contributed to helping make BEEF 2021 once again an outstanding event that so well showcased the Beef Industry and its importance to our nation’s prosperity,” a Rockhampton Catholic Education spokesperson said.

“The students from The Cathedral College and St Paul’s Gracemere looked resplendent in their blazers and were outstanding representatives for Catholic Education at BEEF 2021.”

Leaders and stakeholders from every sector of the beef industry were present for the event with Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk also paying a visit.
