BRISBANE archdiocese has launched an online project to support parishes in becoming more inclusive places where people are drawn to and feel a strong sense of belonging.
To help make the project – Focus on Welcome and Inclusion (FWI) – a success, its officers are calling for individuals and parishes to post ideas on the website’s discussion board.
FWI disability awareness and inclusion officer Anthony Gooley said the project was a response to Archbishop John Bathersby’s Advent Pastoral letter, which urged practising Catholics to reach out to those who had lost contact with the Church.
The website, www.bne.catholic.net.au/fwi, contains instructions on how to leave a suggestion and is available in 10 languages.
FWI was put together by the Faith and Life vicariate’s Ministry and Community Life team, which can be contacted on (07) 3336 9323.
