Parishes unite for Logan deanery family festival this Sunday

Family fun: “We have music, face painting, food vans, videos on families and generally gathering families together to feel the warmth and meet with the many happy Catholics who attend on the day.”

PARISHIONERS from Beaudesert, Beenleigh, Cornubia, Daisy Hill, Rochedale, Woodridge, Kingston and Marsden, Boronia Heights and Regents Park parishes are gathering for a family festival day this Sunday.

Parishioner Cristy Gardner-Vecchio said she was “so excited for this event”.

“I hope that there will be lots of families coming from across the Deanery attending this event,” she said.

“It will be a great day to share their joy of our Catholic faith with others.

“I hope that we will have more of these events in the future.”

Logan Dean Fr John Conway said each community would showcase what was happening in their parish and encouraged people to come meet the locals.

There would be stalls for parishes and groups from around Brisbane archdiocese.

Logan Deanery Pastoral Council chairperson Jo Cullen said they had decided a family festival showing the face of God would be the best way to engage parents and kids together.

“We have music, face painting, food vans, videos on families and generally gathering families together to feel the warmth and meet with the many happy Catholics who attend on the day,” she said.

“We are called to evangelize and speak about our faith.”
