EVANGELISATION Brisbane is calling for nominations for their Youth Leader Awards as they prepare for a night of thanksgiving for Catholics working and volunteering to support youth ministry.
The event is an initiative of EB’s Youth & Young Adults team to recognise and give thanks for the work that has taken place in Catholic parishes and communities in the last year.
“Our youth leaders go above and beyond in their ministries, many of them volunteering their time, and are so deserving of our gratitude,” Youth & Young Adults team leader Nattasha Mierendorf said.
“This is an opportunity for the Archdiocese of Brisbane to acknowledge and thank those who work, volunteer and support youth ministry.”
Brisbane Archbishop Mark Coleridge would attend the event to thank everyone who gave their time and energy, Ms Mierendorf said.
He would also present the 2023 Youth Leader Awards as part of the celebration.
“We know the extraordinary effort youth leaders put into their work, and as a part of our celebration we want to recognise this passion and hard work through the Youth Leader Awards,” Ms Mierendorf said.
The Youth Leaders End of Year Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 9 from 6:30pm in the Hanly Room in the Cathedral Precinct.
Anyone in the Archdiocese is welcome to submit a nomination for the Youth Leader Awards, which will recognise the inspiring work across four categories, including: Newcomer; Innovation; Supporter; and Outstanding Leadership.
