THE lockdown will lift for nine of the 11 local government areas in South East Queensland at 6pm, but will continue in place for 24 hours in Brisbane and Moreton Bay after three local cases were detected overnight.

A mother and daughter from Carindale, on Brisbane’s south side, have both tested positive to the virus.

Queensland chief health officer Jeanette Young said the mother and daughter had been active in the community.

Early contact tracing information suggests the pair have travelled to Brisbane’s CBD in the last week as well as visiting their local Greek Orthodox community centre on multiple days.

The current list of exposure sites:

  • Harris Farm Markets and Woolworths, West End on Sunday June 26 between 11:50am and 1:50pm
  • Greek Orthodox Community Centre on Monday June 28 and Tuesday June 29
  • Espresso Engine coffee shop on Tuesday June 29 between 7:20am and 7:30am
  • Woolworths Metro on Turbot Street on Tuesday June 29 at 9:30am (for five minutes)
  • JB Hi Fi on Albert Street on Tuesday June 29 between 12:20 and 12:30pm
  • Mecca Maxima Make Up Shop in Queen Street Mall on Tuesday June 29 between 12:40pm and 12:50pm

More contact tracing information will be made available on the Queensland Health website through the day.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the partner of a flight check-in crew member had a positive test result come back.

The partner and the airport worker had the highly-infectious Delta variant of the virus.

While the lockdown will end in the Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Gold Coast, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Somerset and Townsville local government areas, mask restrictions and social distancing requirements remain in place for two weeks.

Ms Palaszczuk said she would speak early tomorrow morning with an update on the Brisbane and Moreton Bay local government areas.
