YOUNG people, teachers, ministry leaders and adults are preparing for four days of powerful encounter with Jesus at Ignite Conference this month in Brisbane.
Conference speaker and Catholic social media influencer Fr Rob Galea said it was going to be a “life-changing conference” for so many young people.
“It’s going to be an incredible time for us to gather as young people across the world.
“God is going to minister to you, he is going to impact your heart.”
A second conference is being held in Sydney as in recent years with both of them having a conference theme – “Wonder”.
“At a time when our world is marked by fear and uncertainty, we need the God of wonders to remind us of all that is good and true; that Jesus is present and powerful and able to move mountains in our lives,” Ignite Youth director Kym Keady said.
The conference has content streams for all ages.
These include Ignite Adults, which includes selected sessions for young adults as well as deeper sessions for those aged 25+, Ignite High for high school students, and Ignite Kids for primary aged children.
Mass will be celebrated at the conference and there will be chances for the Sacrament of Penance too.
More than 1300 people have already registered across the two conferences.
Parishes, schools, universities and dioceses from across Australia and New Zealand are organising groups to attend, while hundreds of others have registered individually.
Many families attend together, with the parents attending the adult sessions while their children enjoy their own streams.
The Ignite Conference is run by Ignite Youth, the national youth ministry that springs out of the Emmanuel Community, Brisbane.
It has been ministering for more than 20 years.
Ignite Conference will be held in Brisbane at St Laurence’s College from September 21-24, and in Greater Sydney at the Broken Bay Cathedral Precinct, Waitara, from September 28 to October 1.
