WORLD cultures may be vastly different in routines and customs but parishioners from St Patrick’s, Beenleigh, proved Christ is their common denominator.
More than 600 parishioners and members of the Beenleigh community shared not only food from over 50 destinations, but joined in for an eternal feast in a multicultural Mass.
The Liturgy of the Word was proclaimed in Spanish and Cook Islands Maori, while prayers of the faithful were read in Indian, French, Chinese, German and English.
Hymns were sung in Tagalog, Malayalam and English.
Brisbane archdiocese’s vicar general Monsignor Peter Meneely concelebrated Mass with Beenleigh’s parish priest Missionary Congregation the Blessed Sacrament Father Joseph Kannatt.
Msgr Meneely said the colourful and vibrant cultural communities showed just how far God’s message of love and life has been sown in the world.
