AFTER eight years without a parish pastoral council Holy Family Parish, Runaway Bay, commissioned a team of nine new members earlier this month.
Parish priest Fr John Khoai welcomed Marie Roberts, Gabrielle Lahood, Iain Harrison, Brian Torrey, Jackie Cameron, Rachelle Broughton, Ronnie Wilson, Ramon Lopez and Nola Wooster as the new council.
Fr Khoai said the council would be “a sounding board” for “discussions and counsel for the vision and issues within the parish”.
Council chairwoman Ronnie Wilson said she and the other members would listen and gather ideas about the needs of the parish.
“We are all enthusiastic, committed, compassionate members who will assist Fr Khoai in his mission of bringing Christ to the people,” Mrs Wilson said.
They would also support Fr Khoai’s vision for Holy Family Parish.
The council held its first meeting on March 13.
