SOUTHERN Cross College, Scarborough, will have not one but two new facilities to mark the formal beginning of Preparatory Year in Queensland in 2007.
More than 1000 staff, students and friends of the college celebrated the official openings of Prep Year buildings at the Kippa-Ring and Woody Point campuses on October 27 and November 3 respectively.
As October 27 marked the 40th anniversary of World Teachers Day, Kippa-Ring head of campus David Stewart took the opportunity to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of Southern Cross staff.
College and parish members and guests, including Redcliffe Mayor Allan Sutherland, Brisbane Catholic Education executive director David Hutton, State Member for Murrumba Dean Wells and State Member for Redcliffe Lillian van Litsenburg, attended the liturgical celebrations.
The liturgies were accompanied by the college primary choir and celebrated by Redcliffe parish priest Fr Peter Gillam.
Southern Cross principal Robyn Killoran said: “Our students continue to be blessed in all they have to look forward to.”
