DEFENDING unborn babies is a task one Toowoomba mother is prepared to tackle one glamorous dress at a time.

Mother of five Kerri Brennan opened a new maternity fashion business for pregnant and nursing mums and added a subtle pro-life twist in the store’s name.

“I was hoping that by naming it ‘Little Miracles Maternity Wear’ it would remind people that babies are miracles,” Mrs Brennan said.

Mrs Brennan’s business takes over from friend and mother-to-be Bernadette Ross, who opened a similar online clothing store last year.

The pro-life supporter hoped her small business would be a platform for mums to embrace life and look beautiful at the same time.

“I’m hoping it will speak to people about the preciousness of life,” Mrs Brennan said.

The business also offers clothes to accentuate feminine beauty and help pregnant women show off their baby bumps.

“Pregnant women don’t have to wear a tent,” Mrs Brennan said.

“My motto is, ‘Growing beautifully’.

“It has a double meaning of the baby growing beautifully but that also a woman can be beautiful while pregnant.”

Women can buy any of Mrs Brennan’s items at one of her pop-up stores throughout Toowoomba or by private consultation.

The pop-up stores will stock “maternity glamour” including dresses, swimwear, maternity shirts with discrete “breastfeeding access”, and specialise in occasional wear.

Mrs Brennan’s business joins a number of pro-life organisations in Toowomba, including Emily’s Voice and pregnancy support group Edith’s Place.
