He is also the face of their fundraising campaign and will assist with the promotion of the hospitals, which are being constructed in Stanley St and are due to be opened in mid-May.
The public has been invited to view sections of the two hospitals this weekend.
Tours will be available from noon-2pm today (Sunday).
Executive director of the Mater Children’s Hospitals, Fiona Brewin-Brown, said the hospitals would cater for the needs of the whole family, including overnight accommodation for parents at every bedside, private parent lounges and even a teen lounge, specifically designed to entertain young patients and their siblings.
