MORE than 4000 people laced up their walking shoes in Brisbane on June 25 to raise close to $60,000 for sick children through the Mater Little Miracles 5ks for Kids walkathon.
The walk helps the Mater Children’s Hospital at South Brisbane to care for more than 70,000 children annually.
The event began at the South Bank Cultural Forecourt and continued along the river to Davies Park and back again.
The event is now in its 14th year and for the first time it was also held in regional areas including Bundall, Cooroy, Maroochydore and Bowen.
5ks for Kids co-ordinator Trish Smith said the walk was a wonderful way for people to make little miracles happen for sick kids at the Mater.
