GREATER Brisbane will come out of lockdown from 6pm tonight and transition to a rigorous set of restrictions over the next 10 days, including widespread use of masks particularly in shops, workplaces, public transport and churches.

The restrictions remain in place for Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton and Redlands until January 22.

These restrictions are supposed to last until the typical COVID-19 incubation period, typically 14 days, has come to an end.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the people of Greater Brisbane had done a “remarkable” job over the last three days adapting to the lockdown.

She said there had been zero cases of community transmission.

An additional four cases were reported in hotel quarantine, bringing the state’s total active caseload to 25.

Ms Palaszczuk said there had been 18,904 tests in the last 24 hours, and thanked everyone for doing the “right thing” and coming forward to get tested.

Part of the new restrictions from 6pm tonight included carrying a facemask on you at all times.

“When in doubt, wear a mask,” Ms Palaszczuk said.
