Catholic Guy coming to Brisbane

MARKING the Year of Faith, Perth’s Bruce Downes, also known as The Catholic Guy, will host a Brisbane West Deanery mission event from October 16 – 22.
The Catholic Guy Team facilitate parish missions and retreats across Australia.
This is the first time they have attempted to run a retreat for an entire Deanery.
The deanery is also special for Mr Downes and his wife Rosemary, who were married at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Kenmore in 1982.
Mr Downes congratulated Brisbane West on the enthusiasm, promotion and momentum that have been created by the planning group in the lead up to the mission.
The retreat will be held at 10am each weekday morning, and repeated at 7.30pm.
The Catholic Guy Team said the retreat would “change, renew and inspire all those who take the opportunity to attend the mission event”.
For more information about the retreats, contact Brisbane West Deanery projects officer Michael Doherty on 3716 0158 or visit
