BRISBANE archdiocese’s Vocations Office hosted the National Diocesan Vocations Directors Conference held at Holy Spirit Provincial Seminary, Banyo from October 21-22.
This was the first time the event had been held in five years.
The vocation directors met to look at national issues in vocations, discernment programs, resources and outreach evangelisation campaigns.
Highlights of the conference were meeting Monsignor Tony Randazzo and the seminary staff and students, a visit to the St Stephen’s Cathedral precinct and Canali House, and a round table conference with Brisbane Archbishop Mark Coleridge.
Fifteen directors from around Australian attended the conference.
Vocation director Fr Morgan Batt said it was good to finally meet one another and to move forward with a national agenda.
Sandhurst Bishop Leslie Tomlinson said: “The Bishops are very aware of the importance of encouraging future vocations to serve the people of God in this land, we commend you for this initiative”.
The next conference will be in Sydney in 2016.
