NA Rin, 37 (pictured), is the face of Project Compassion 2005.
The Cambodian woman is featured in publicity material for Caritas Australia’s Lenten appeal.
She is seen working in the farmyard she and her family have developed with the help of Caritas, in the village of Toul in Kompong Cham.
Na Rin’s family and 63 other families in the village have worked with Caritas over the past three years to build a better life.
Six years ago, the village was still under the control of the Khmer Rouge and the land was covered with landmines.
The Caritas partnership with the village community has resulted in the provision of pumps for clean water, roads for market access and irrigation canals for farmland.
